The Atlantic Hockey Association takes center stage in Utica, NY in less than three weeks. Here is an update on where the conference stands.
The Atlantic Hockey Association Championship will take place at the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, NY on March 18th and 19th. Four of its ten teams will compete in the semifinals and then the championship game itself, with the winner of that game hoisting the Jack Riley Trophy as the postseason champion of the conference as well as punching its ticket to the Division I NCAA Tournament.

All ten teams of the Atlantic Hockey Association qualify for its postseason tournament. According to http://atlantichockeyonline.com, the tournament consists of the first-round, quarterfinals, semifinals, and the championship game. The top six seeded teams in the standings receive first-round byes and the first round and quarterfinals consist of best of three series with the higher seed hosting all games in both rounds. In the first round, Mercyhurst and Holy Cross will square off and Niagara will face Bentley. After the first round is over, the quarterfinals will be the highest seeds playing the lowest seeds remaining. According to the standings, AIC will play the lowest-seeded first-round winner and Canisius will play the other winner while Army will host Air Force and RIT and Sacred Heart square off.
